Wise quote from one of my favorite authors Kurt Vonnegut.
Today is Uncle-Niece day. This is the day when I have to stop thinking about myself and my plans of what-to-do-on-a-weekend. This is the day when I have to go back to becoming a child. (This reminds me of a good quote from “Beyond Good and Evil” by Nietzsche – “A man’s maturity consists in having found again the seriousness one had as a child, at play.”)
Tanvi, my niece, is about 10 years old and as quite as a Loki, the god of mischief. She is one chatter-box and the only way to shut her little mouth is to give her a laptop and a game to play with or turn on “Bheem” on some channel that I never turn on except when she is around.
Her favorite hang out place on internet is this game site. She can play those games for hours and hours. I mean the way she gets engrossed and serious playing those games – I wish I had one of these when I was little. All I had was…damn I don’t remember…guess shitty childhood 😦
Well, anyways, we had a good lunch and watched some TV, played UNO, drank Thumbs Up, & now she is cleaning the dishes (Human Rights Activists – She insisted, Okay?) 🙂
The other little devil, Pari, the youngest niece, is at her Nani’s house. Both are enjoying their summer vacation which is about to end.
